Miss Lyla

Lyla found a love for dance at just 5 years old. Ironically, Lyla’s very first dance teacher was Miss Rana! Lyla danced for what was Northern Dance Academy in Suamico and stayed for the transformation to NEW Fusion Dance and Performing Arts. She danced with NEW Fusion until 2018 when she transitioned to dancing for the Bay Port Dance Team. Lyla had a remarkable four years with the dance team as they placed runner-up in Division 1 Pom and were state champions in Division 1 kick in 2019. During Lyla’s final year of high school, she couldn’t bear the thought of leaving dance in her past. Though Lyla teaches many different styles of dance, her favorite style is lyrical/contemporary because of the story a dancer can tell when performing.

Lyla has attended numerous dance conventions (NUVO, Intrigue, etc.) where she has received many scholarships. Additionally, Lyla has had the privilege of meeting/dancing with world-renowned dancers and choreographers such as Travis Wall, Derek Hough, Fik-Shun, and many more.

Lyla studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where she is majoring in Spanish and minoring in Education. Her goal is to be a bilingual elementary school teacher! Lyla is excited to continue to bring fun, creativity, and challenges into the classroom for students!
